No, the main difference being that what we use
presents (on text screen) configurable timeout counter
when user at the console can skip it by a keypress
(it can also send pre-formatted e-mail to configurable
account)

yum-updateonboot just starts and runs immediately
(but it also can reboot the system immediately in case
some updates requiring it are applied).


[We can add this functionality in another 3-5 lines of bash
if needed ;-)]

PS: Speaking of update systems: we plan to abandon apt-get
    completely for SLC5.
