After recent updates, (a 'yum update' done on 2018-05-01),
yum has now started complaining, on 'check-update' :

So I am doing as requested and reporting this problem .

I must say, I am none the wiser as to the root cause of this problem
(or what sort of problem it is, or what effects it may have)
after reading the 'yum --verbose' output shown above.

Is there anyone who speaks yum-ese who could translate , and
enlighten me as to the root cause, and effects of this problem ?

The packages affected by SLEA-2017:1977-1 are all at their latest versions:
