Good day - After recent updates, (a 'yum update' done on 2018-05-01), yum has now started complaining, on 'check-update' : <quote><code><pre> $ yum check-update Loaded plugins: langpacks Update notice SLEA-2017:1977-1 (from sl-security) is broken, or a bad duplicate, skipping. You should report this problem to the owner of the sl-security repository. If you are the owner, consider re-running the same command with --verbose to see the exact data that caused the conflict. $ yum check-update --verbose Loading "langpacks" plugin Adding en_GB.UTF-8 to language list Config time: 0.006 Adding en_GB to language list Yum version: 3.4.3 rpmdb time: 0.000 Building updates object Setting up Package Sacks pkgsack time: 0.007 up:Obs Init time: 0.087 up:simple updates time: 0.025 up:obs time: 0.002 up:condense time: 0.000 updates time: 0.339 Duplicate of SLEA-2017:1977-1 differs in some fields: <<<<<<< sl-security:description None ======= '' >>>>>>> sl:description Update notice SLEA-2017:1977-1 (from sl-security) is broken, or a bad duplicate, skipping. I must say, I am none the wiser as to the root cause of this problem (or what sort of problem it is, or what effects it may have) after reading the 'yum --verbose' output shown above. Is there anyone who speaks yum-ese who could translate , and enlighten me as to the root cause, and effects of this problem ? The packages affected by SLEA-2017:1977-1 are all at their latest versions: <quote><code><pre> $ rpm -qa 'nss*' nss-softokn-freebl-3.34.0-2.el7.i686 nss-util-devel-3.34.0-2.el7.x86_64 nss-softokn-freebl-3.34.0-2.el7.x86_64 nss-softokn-freebl-devel-3.34.0-2.el7.x86_64 nss-3.34.0-4.el7.x86_64 nss-softokn-3.34.0-2.el7.x86_64 nss-softokn-devel-3.34.0-2.el7.x86_64 nss-tools-3.34.0-4.el7.x86_64 nss-util-3.34.0-2.el7.x86_64 nss-sysinit-3.34.0-4.el7.x86_64 nss-devel-3.34.0-4.el7.x86_64 nss-pem-1.0.3-4.el7.x86_64 </pre></code></quote> Thanks & Best Regards Jason
