Laptops are always a bit of an adventure. Is there any particular

As much as it makes me wince, can you test it on Gnome or KDE? Or if
you're feeling a bit retro, you're welcome to try my "vtwm" building
tools at https://github.com/nkadel/vtwm-5.5.x-srpm . I've found vtwm
to be *amazingly* stable and robust.
