I have been wondering if SL can adopt kABI-tracking kmod packages.
For example, CentOS is now offering kmod-xfs that is kernel version
independent.  It uses the weak-modules script which sets up a symlink
for all kABI compatible kernels installed.  It should eliminate the
issue reported in this thread.
