His problem is with libc version (he just cut out the exact output and
it got confusing :).
Basically yum complained about missing dep like
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.8)(64bit)

Of course, glibc 2.5 in 5.9 can't provide abi compatibility with 2.8 so
packages built with glibc >= 2.8 won't work as simply as that...
