The download from the http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6.0/x86_64/iso/ server you specified in the link in your mail below resulted in a proper checksum. There is definitely something wrong with the files staged on the http://ftp1.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6.0/x86_64/iso/ server.
Thanks for the link.Braja

One difference I notice is your link points to http://ftp..... while the one I used through the SL website points to http://ftp1..... website. Those are probably 2 separate servers. I am downloading now using your link.
What utility did you use to compute the checksum of the ISO files?

Those two files: "SL-60-x86_64-2011-03-03-Everything-DVD1.iso" and "SL-60-x86_64-2011-03-03-Everything-DVD2.iso" will be enough for full installation. "SL-60-x86_64-2011-03-03-Install-DVD.iso" image doesn't contain the entire distribution but capable for basic install.

They passed all SHA1/SHA256 checks.

I see there is an public torrent tracker but seems it is not functional. I wasted few hours waiting for seeders appearance, but there was no luck.
So I decided to download it from the HTTP resource I have provided above.

Which files did you download - the first 2 or the 3rd? I had checksum mismatches on all 3 with MD5 and SHA1. Is there an alternate / mirror site to download from?

Hello,

I just have installed SL-6.0 from DVD images taken from there:

http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6.0/x86_64/iso/

http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6.0/i386/iso/

SHA1/SHA256 checksums match, and installation process doesn't bring any issues.
