Hi,

Installed SL 7.0 on ThinkPad T420s,
​X and WiFi worked out of the box and were running great till
​it is update to SL 7.1 with yum update.

*Xorg*

​X does not work with new kernel, when booting up I have 3 choices of the
grub menu:

   1. ​Scientific Linux (3.10.0-229.1.2.el7.x86_64) 7.1 (Nitrogen)​
   2. ​Scientific Linux, with Linux 3.10.0-123.el7.x86_64
   3. ​
   ​Scientific Linux, with Linux 0-rescue​


​If I choose 1) I get the GDM login screen, it allows me to type in a
username and password, but X does not fully load, it only loads a black
screen with a mouse cursor then freeze​, I can't even get to tty2.

If I choose 2) then at least I get a usable desktop. So I am running the
older kernel now and connect to the net through the wire, as WiFI no longer
works neither:

I use the GNOME WiFi applet to connect, it scans the surrounding SSID but
nothing happens when I actually click on the SSID that I want to connect
to, doesn't prompt for a password or anything.​

Help! Should I try downgrade NetworkManager or something?
