Hi Connie,
Booted SL5.6 from cpqarray to prove network was operational, 30 ms due south :)
Booted SL6 boot.iso, same error reported earlier.
Using info from ctrl-alt-f3 & f4, determined that SL6 reverses eth0
with eth1 relative to SL5.6 boot.iso.
The two FastE controllers are mac 00:04:76+ and 00:50:8b+. One is on
the mother board (TI ThunderLAN), the other on the bus.
Switched to SL-6-i386-2011-02-11-LiveMiniCD.iso, booted without boot:
kernel parms, with the following result:
uhci-hcd 0000:00:14.2 Found HC with no IRQ, Check BIOS/PCI 0000:00:14.2 setup!
uhci-hcd 0000:00::14.2 init 0000:00:14.2 fail, -19
LOCK UP requiring POR
Verified that SL5.6 would still boot without a problem.
Verified that KNOPPIX_V6.4.3CD-2010-12-20-EN.iso would boot without a problem.
Verified that NetBSD's i386cd-5.0.2.iso would install without a problem.
Sibling CL1850Rs have been and are running CentOS 4.8 in production
without a problem.
Ran HP/Compaq Firmware Utility 7.2; it upgraded _only_ two new disk
drives which had been put into the array.
