Hi, folks.  We're running SL 4.3 on a dual-Opteron server.  We've just
noticed that there are processes that show as "events" in the output of
the top command that are consuming large amounts of the CPU on this
system:

  PID USER      PR  NI  VIRT  RES  SHR S %CPU %MEM    TIME+  COMMAND
    7 root       5 -10     0    0    0 R 99.9  0.0   1786:41 events/1

I can't tell where this process is coming from or what to do about it.
