Yes it's still a link and I edited it(added some kernel options but did not
remove anything). It was also changed by updating to 2.6.9-34.0.1

Yes you are right, after disabling
co:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty ttyS0 9600 vt100-nav
in inittab NUT works just fine, thanks.
