Some of users complained about the lack of xpdf (even with evince etc), so 
we built it for SL5.  If you trust me you can use the package from our 5x 
repos:

   http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/linux/sl/damtp/5x/

those are yum'able repos but beware that some of the packages in there 
replace standard ones from SL or the 'usual' set of extra repos so you 
wouldn't want to enable it by default...  At least not without knowing 
*exactly* what you are doing.
