If you look at the changelog for CentOS's rpm it has

* Wed Dec 15 2004 Thomas Fitzsimmons <[log in to unmask]> - 0:1.4.2.0-27jpp

- Remove ppc64 workaround for #142611.


Since we do not support the ppc platform, we do not need this patch or 
update.
