|SATA works fine in SL44.  Has worked for a long time now.

Specifically, it has worked since 3.0.4, and worked well as
far as we can tell.

|I suggest that you look at the 2 systems and look for bios differences.

I agree, but I'll also note that we recently ran into
a situation where a newer rev chip on a motherboard
caused things to not work that had, with regard to
PATA and SATA.
