Yes.
That is why the release has
gdm-2.16.0-56.sl.i386.rpm
We have to make changes to gdm.
Where did you get gdm-1:2.16.0-56.el5.x86_64.rpm?
I thought I moved it out of the way before pushing this up to the Alpha 
releases.
