Am trying to get an SL6 cloned partition from one box to boot on another
box. Always a tricky prospect, I know, and this time the boot-up crashes
midway with "no root device found, boot has failed, sleeping
forever...." (a new one on me!).

In the past I have used modprobe and kudzu to solve such issues, but
unsure what the latest incarnation doing a similar job may be on SL6,
and if it can be forced as a boot parameter via grub somehow? Any clue
appreciated.

Sean
