Ubuntu workstation/laptop hosts and SL7 in a Singularity container allows me to use an OS I prefer for almost everything while still staying compatible with FNAL and CERN for a few needed things. I anticipate this model will continue to work when/if the majority of HEP moves to Centos 8. -Brett.
