We have utilized the CentOS upgrade and it worked for us.   I highly 
recommend (as the instructions highly recommend too) make an off system 
backup of all the important data before upgrading.

The upgrade was straight forward assuming you are using the standard RPM 
repos.   If you have a custom RPM repo setup, your mileage may very.
