Hi all, I'm getting bit by the recent 3ware kernel bug identified here:

https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=10073
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1301080 (for the privileged few)

In my case the hardware is a 3ware/LSI/Avago 9690SA-4I.

For the time being, I seem to be OK running an older kernel (229.14.1), but I know that's not a long-term solution.

Any idea when the pertinent patch will hit Sci 7?

Thanks!

This is one of the unfortunate downsides to a bug for bug compatibility....

Without an upstream fix, SL is very unlikely to apply patches.  Once it is fixed upstream, it should show up in SL fairly quickly.

It will take a while before the patch makes it into the RHEL kernel, it seems. In the meantime, I suggest you try the centosplus kernel referenced in the CentOS bug report. It should work just fine under SL.
