Some filesystems utilize the Virtual > Filesystem Switch, or VFS in different ways. It is a Panasas Shelf (so proprietary). Of course Panasas ensures us that it just adheres to standard Linux permissions. I just don't understand why permissions work else where, but in this one directory structure it is granting permissions when it shouldn't. If I could figure out a way of seeing what is granting permissions I might be able to come up with a solution. But I am still stumped on that. Thanks!
