Gluster has its own repo now on its site that stacks on EPEL. The reason they were taken out is the ones in EPEL were from 3.2 and RHEL includes the client for 3.4 the two are not compatible.
You need to use the 3.4 repo from the Gluster site.

Sorry for not being clear enough in the first email. The missing package is in the glusterfs-server package that isn't in Red Hat's base but part of Red Hat's storage product I believe.
