I know, that they must go upstream, but I never dealt with this situation, of mean, I'm not a user of upstream, so is it normal to open bug ticket there or not?

About kmod, it might work. At the end of the day, I doubt that there will be ever change in ABI related to this modules, so once installed it can go with weak-uldates. Although I keep them as dkms muself.
But I'd like to have then somewhere in repos, for people who has to deal with the same problem.

Then another question for elrepo, why to not include also kmod with fresh driver for 9p? Very useful if one want to use it, either as network, or virtfs in KVM.
