Happy holidays,

i experience a problem when burning dual layer DVD.

When i put an empty dual disk in the /var/log/messages reports:
Dec 30 16:21:51 server kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical
block 0
Dec 30 16:21:51 server kernel: sr 4:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK

recognize!

execution of
growisofs -Z /dev/dvd -R ./*

attempted over 3 disks returned the same error:

where growisofs version reports:
 growisofs -version
* growisofs by <[log in to unmask]>, version 7.1,
front-ending to mkisofs: mkisofs 2.01 is not what you see here. This line
is only a fake for too clever
GUIs and other frontend applications. In fact, this program is:
genisoimage 1.1.9 (Linux)

last time i tried to burn dual disk was quite a few years ago. At that time
Robert helped me out by pointing to OSS extensions project -
http://crashrecovery.org/oss-dvd.html

any advise is welcomed.

needless to say that all other disks are been recorded without problems for
years ( R, RW)
