The objective is to follow <http://www.scientificlinux.org/distributions/6x/build/sites> to build a common Server Only CD suitable for use as the base for single-purpose-built servers and then yum the server's only reason for existence from a local repo of current vintage (BIND-9.7.3 and DHCP 4.1-ESV-R1 e.g.). While successful with 5rolling boot.iso, 6rolling's boot.iso is complaining that install.img can't be found. The code tries to load updates.img (0%), product.img (0%) and install.img(0%) and always terminates with a failure regarding finding install.img. The only thing out of the ordinary is that boot: is being passed enough information to load-and-go on a Compaq Proliant 1850R, after observing that FC14 and SL6 produce the same errors on the console log when booting, whereas SL5 boots without a problem. The URL variants which have been tried (based on the wording of the prompt, which may be misunderstood) are: http://bu1.texoma.net/linux/scientific/6rolling/i386 http://bu1.texoma.net/linux/scientific/6rolling/i386/os http://bu1.texoma.net/linux/scientific/6rolling/i386/os/images Thanks for advising re the cockpit error if one exists. root@bu1:/var/www/linux/scientific/6rolling/i386/os/images# ls -l total 264388 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 152043520 2011-02-18 14:48 boot.iso -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 118616064 2011-02-18 14:48 install.img -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 66560 2011-02-18 14:48 product.img drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2011-02-18 14:48 pxeboot lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 2011-02-20 05:42 xen -> pxeboot/ kind [log in to unmask]
