The java plugin is something that alot of people use. I don't have an inside connection to RedHat, but in their Summits I asked around quite a bit and was assured that the openjdk java plugin would be in the release. I was looking forward to not having to do anything for the plugin to be in SL6. *sigh* If anyone has access to bugzilla #639954, and it isn't a NDA, please let me know. It might help decide what direction we go with this. I am leaning towards changing their spec file so that it builds and puts in the openjdk plugin. But that would meaning changing the spec file each time there is an update.
