My initial reaction to 1 is "No". I take the point that the spinning electron theme is not KISS and not good as a logo, but I would run screaming from 1 as a login screen. Back to 1: Is the hexagon/cube specific to SL6 or would we keep it with SL7 and above ? Something about the linear "icon + text" is too late 80s early 90s corporate for me. Are people happy with the reminder of the early SGI icon http://insidehpc.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/silicon_graphics_logo_new.jpg ? The icon rings a strong bell for me and may be very similar to something already in use. Google suggests it isn't Data General. It might be a someone in IT or the financial services industry. Perhaps a broken circle rather than a broken hexagonal ring ? -- Dr. Andrew C. Aitchison Computer Officer, DPMMS, Cambridge [log in to unmask] http://www.dpmms.cam.ac.uk/~werdna
