Hello, I haven't had any negative feedback about the yum-versionfix, so I think I'll start rolling it out. Here is my plan. If anyone has any objections or idea, let me know. 1 - 29 September 2008 - Create a new yum rpm that has the versionfix plugin and list in it. Put this into the testing area. (Done) 2 - Let that sit in testing for a week. 3 - 6 October 2008 - Push this new yum out into the SL4 security errata area 4 - Let it be there for at least one month, maybe two. This is because some people do not do their updates as often as others. 5 - 6 November or 6 December 2008 - Push out a new yum, that does not have the plugin. Also, put out the yum-versionfix rpm, so that if people want to install and use it later they can. Does this sound ok to everyone? The current list of poorly named rpm's is cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.2.i386 cups-devel-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.2.i386 cups-libs-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.2.i386 cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.2.x86_64 cups-devel-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.2.x86_64 cups-libs-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.2.x86_64 net-snmp-5.1.2-11.11.1.i386 net-snmp-devel-5.1.2-11.11.1.i386 net-snmp-libs-5.1.2-11.11.1.i386 net-snmp-perl-5.1.2-11.11.1.i386 net-snmp-utils-5.1.2-11.11.1.i386 net-snmp-5.1.2-11.11.1.x86_64 net-snmp-devel-5.1.2-11.11.1.x86_64 net-snmp-libs-5.1.2-11.11.1.x86_64 net-snmp-perl-5.1.2-11.11.1.x86_64 net-snmp-utils-5.1.2-11.11.1.x86_64 compat-openldap-2.1.30-8.1.i386 compat-openldap-2.1.30-8.1.x86_64 openldap-2.2.13-8.1.i386 openldap-clients-2.2.13-8.1.i386 openldap-devel-2.2.13-8.1.i386 openldap-servers-2.2.13-8.1.i386 openldap-servers-sql-2.2.13-8.1.i386 openldap-2.2.13-8.1.x86_64 openldap-clients-2.2.13-8.1.x86_64 openldap-devel-2.2.13-8.1.x86_64 openldap-servers-2.2.13-8.1.x86_64 openldap-servers-sql-2.2.13-8.1.x86_64 openssl-0.9.7a-43.17.1.i386 openssl-0.9.7a-43.17.1.i686 openssl-devel-0.9.7a-43.17.1.i386 openssl-perl-0.9.7a-43.17.1.i386 openssl-0.9.7a-43.17.1.x86_64 openssl-devel-0.9.7a-43.17.1.x86_64 openssl-perl-0.9.7a-43.17.1.x86_64 pcre-4.5-4.4.i386 pcre-devel-4.5-4.4.i386 pcre-4.5-4.4.x86_64 pcre-devel-4.5-4.4.x86_64 perl-5.8.5-36.2.i386 perl-suidperl-5.8.5-36.2.i386 perl-5.8.5-36.2.x86_64 perl-suidperl-5.8.5-36.2.x86_64 If anyone know's of any rpm's that are poorly named for SL4 that I missed, please let me know.
