Hello, I found out that the usb 2.0 support is broken in kernel 2.6.9-78 (smp version). If I insert an usb stick I get this in /var/log/messages: Aug 4 10:14:25 lxcip59 kernel: usb 1-7: new high speed USB device using address 4 Aug 4 10:14:25 lxcip59 kernel: usb 1-7: device not accepting address 4, error -71 Aug 4 10:14:25 lxcip59 kernel: usb 1-7: new high speed USB device using address 5 Aug 4 10:14:26 lxcip59 kernel: usb 1-7: device not accepting address 5, error -71 If I remove the kernel module "ehci_hcd". I can insert the stick, but it is only "full speed" and not "high speed": Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: usb 2-7: new full speed USB device using address 4 Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: scsi4 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: Vendor: Model: USB FLASH DRIVE Rev: 34CE Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: SCSI device sdb: 2015232 512-byte hdwr sectors (1032 MB) Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: SCSI device sdb: 2015232 512-byte hdwr sectors (1032 MB) Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: sdb: sdb1 Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sdb at scsi4, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Aug 5 16:51:13 lxcip59 scsi.agent[22519]: disk at /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:0b.0/usb2/2-7/2-7:1.0/host4/target4:0:0/4:0:0:0 Aug 5 16:51:14 lxcip59 fstab-sync[22653]: added mount point /media/usbdisk for /dev/sdb1 If I go back to kernel-smp-2.6.9-67.0.22.EL.i686.rpm the problem with ehci_hcd is gone.
