The problems were with AFS, basically a lock file that wasn't being removed 
when thunderbird ended.
But, the same error was on both thunderbird and seamonkey, so it didn't really 
matter which you used.

If there is something else, then I don't remember it.  I don't remember ever 
saying that seamonkey is preferred over thunderbird, but maybe my memory isn't 
the best.
