Hi All, Except with xfig I have not experienced any trouble. Which locale have you set during the installation? My $LANG=en_US.UTF-8. I do not know why, but xfig is for many years somehow incompatible with modern font installations. What I did, is to steel the accomodations of the source code from the SuSE 9.3 distribution and compile xfig myself. If somebody likes the source code, it's here for download: http://cyclotron.tamu.edu/hees/tmp/xfig.3.2.5-full-SL5.0-HvH.tar.bz2 Note that you need to compile the transfig package before the xfig package. Both, transfig and the original xfig source code can be found at http://www.xfig.org/ Cheers, Hendrik.
