Thanks for reply! My message subject line is confusing...I forgot to put 'only' at beginning of the subject line. ooops.. My Up2Date recently installed kernel-2.6.9-42.0.10.EL. But when I check online at ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/44/i386/SL/RPMS/ I see only SL Kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3 available. Where did my Up2Date obtain kernel-2.6.9-42.0.10.EL from? Only scientific base and scientific eratta are enabled in my channels. Can someone tell me where kernel-2.6.9-42.0.10.EL.i686.rpm is located on the SL update servers? thanks! -yma ----- Original Message ----- From: "Christopher Juckins" <[log in to unmask]> To: "markaoki" <[log in to unmask]>; <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 7:20 AM Subject: Re: SL kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3 available? > Hi, > > In the file /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date make sure that the following > lines do not contain 'kernel': > > pkgSkipList[comment]=A list of package names, optionally including > wildcards, to skip > pkgSkipList=; > > fileSkipList[comment]=A list of file names, optionally including > wildcards, to skip > fileSkipList=; > > Then rerun up2date. > > Hope this helps. > > -C Juckins > > markaoki wrote: >> hi, >> >> my last Up2Date (channel: scientific base >> ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/44/i386/SL/RPMS/) >> brought in kernel-2.6.9-42.0.10.EL recently. >> >> however, I only see kernel-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL in that ftp directory. >> >> A search for '2.6.9-42.0.10' turns up nothing. >> >> Can someone please tell me were Up2Date pulled that >> kernel-2.6.9-42.0.10.EL from? >> >> >> thanks, have a good day...well, night here...very late* >> -yma >
