Hi Ken, joomla http://www.joomla.org/ is the winner of 2006 Open Source CMS Award. There are plenty of plug-ins and extensions (even if some are payware) but if you need SSL support, you must wait for version 1.5 (in Beta now). It misses also some performance-specific features, like "database replication" and "load balancing". Drupal is the second, and Plone the third. Look at http://www.cmsmatrix.org/matrix/cms-matrix and compare Joomla, Drupal, Plone, Midgard CMS, My Source Matrix, Saurus CMS Free, worksystem, etc. ect.
