I recently ran into problems trying to SL 4.2 onto a machine with a 3ware 9550sx using
their latest driver disk which supports RHEL 4.2. The driver disk does work properly
with RHEL 4.2ES install disks. It turns out that Redhat uses 2.6.9-22.EL as the boot
kernel on their 4.2 ISOs. Unfortunately, SL ISOs are built with 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL. I guess
I have to build my own driver disk to do the install since 3ware does supply source code.
This could be a problem for others if a hardware vendor only supplies binary install disks.
