Hi Ioannis: Yes....the disk is completely healthy....Troy and I were wrong about that...so we are back to the mystery, however I remember someone else replying about a similar thing and mentioning that it didn't matter...but your tests are good....I wish I could say the same about the hard drive I'm working off of right now, which is "PASSING" the test but SMART is telling me there are marginal data in pre-failure mode...and that I already have 3 unreadable sectors!!! But...alas..this is a test computer and when I get my new hard drive for my "mainframe"...I'm taking the old 40GIG thing from that and putting it here! If your system is running well...I wouldn't worry too much about it! Thanks for the data... > > (2) I think the lines of: > > Long test: "SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED" > Short test: "SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED" > > > mean it looks OK. > -- Sent on Scientific Linux 4.2 running on testcomputer.home 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL GNU/Linux from Thunderbird Mail 1.0.7 protected by F-PROT ANTIVIRUS Program version: 4.6.5 Engine version: 3.16.13 VIRUS SIGNATURE FILES SIGN.DEF created 6 January 2006 SIGN2.DEF created 6 January 2006 MACRO.DEF created 6 January 2006
