I am using a Tyan K8W with |2.04 Bios. | |I have 6GB on one cpu (2 x 2GB and 2 x 1GB memory sticks) and 4 GB on |the other CPU ( 2 x 2GB memory sticks). I don't know about this specific board, but at least some of the dual Opteron boards floating around don't like you to mix RAM types on a processor. On such systems, you could use the RAM sticks you have to go 4 and 4 (2x2 + 2x2), or 8 (4x2) and 2 (2x1), but not 6 and 4 as you have. Did you check your manual? If you don't have one for the K8W, look here: http://www.tyan.com/support/html/manuals.html There may be an issue between bus speeds, processor speeds, etc. -Miles
