Thanks for reporting it. Finding out that etc/keymaps.gz was too small really helped in finding this problem. Seems like the "buildinstall" script from RedHat does not like a serial console. A program called readmap is run which reads /dev/console. This program fails if you have a serial console. So I will put this info in the instructions for building a new site. A new version with this fixed will be available soon.
