Docker images can be tricker to make compatible with contemporary
kernels. There are many obsolete operating system docker images at
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__hub.docker.com_&d=DwIBaQ&c=gRgGjJ3BkIsb5y6s49QqsA&r=gd8BzeSQcySVxr0gDWSEbN-P-pgDXkdyCtaMqdCgPPdW1cyL5RIpaIYrCn8C5x2A&m=pqytTaVX8WEw9DNPzmnGOBIWFcfkY7NAa3R93kPxUGw&s=NGv7g3MUezK5H4P93RVRWw3vnPROlst4abulCpyR8-A&e= .

The "incantation" sepends, once again, on your specific needs. If
you've custom hardware for which no modern drivers exist, well, it's a
lot of work. But there are plenty of CentOS 5 and CentOS 6 sand 7
images at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__hub.docker.com_&d=DwIBaQ&c=gRgGjJ3BkIsb5y6s49QqsA&r=gd8BzeSQcySVxr0gDWSEbN-P-pgDXkdyCtaMqdCgPPdW1cyL5RIpaIYrCn8C5x2A&m=pqytTaVX8WEw9DNPzmnGOBIWFcfkY7NAa3R93kPxUGw&s=NGv7g3MUezK5H4P93RVRWw3vnPROlst4abulCpyR8-A&e= . Not as many scientific linux
images. but it's not clear you have any fundamental SL requirement.
