I've used Scientific Linux for more than a decade.
S.L. originated in Connie's group at Fermilabs. I appreciate
her good work and wisdom until her retirement three years ago.

I'm particularly worried about her COVID-19 exposure. Connie
appears to be in some higher risk categories. Kane and Dupage
counties surround Fermilab, and their mortality rates are seven
higher than we are experiencing here in Washington County Oregon
(home of Intel D1X and other chip fabs).

The good-to-great news is we have smart scientists and engineers
in both places, and we might invent software and hardware to
help us manage this monster. We also have class 1 clean rooms
to hide in, if worst comes to worst :-/

Well, back to upgrading laptops to SL7.8/Mate and servers to
CentOS 8.1. Don't want those catching a virus, either. I hope
we (and our data) all survive long enough to install CentOS 30!

Keith
