Hi,

I understand your frustration. You should know that power management
and the ability to put your laptop to sleep, or perchance to put it into
hibernation mode, has been a major problem under Linux. For many years
many of us just gave up. I go back about a dozen years, when I fist
started with Fedora. At that time it was not possible to put your
laptop to sleep, so many just gave up. Over the years, things improved
and it was possible. i still run under SL 6.9 and my laptop will sleep
without any problems. Let's face it, this is not rocket science. The
Apple people have figured out how to do this some years ago.

If you can undo your changes, you just might be able to put your
laptop to sleep, and recover your session. Just my two cents worth.

regards,
Andrew
