Thank you all for the replies!

I currently have a stand alone Okidata B4600 printer and an Epson
V300 scanner.  The V300 is getting weirder and weirder.  First it
starting taking forever to scan.  Now it continuously scans page after
page.  If you are quick enough, you can swap the next page in
before it starts scanning again.

I am using CUSS (Common UNIX Scanning System), also know as
     xsane-0.999-9.el7.x86_64
And there have not been any upgrades, so that is not it.

I am looking for a stand alone scanner.
