It is made even worse by EL Linux being an Anti-Kaisen OS.
Looking at
     https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1356288
the original bug was reported on 2016-07-13 under EL 7.2
And the official release won't come till EL 7.5.

Upstream on mtp
    http://libmtp.sourceforge.net/
seems to do a good job on keeping up with things.
EL Linux, not so much. Okay, almost not at all.

I get it. The economic model is to give away the software and
then charge for the consulting. Since I can not afford to put
RH on my payroll, I am at the bottom of the stack, if at all.
