Haha, +1 here :-).
NM is disabled on all my servers, as is the so called 'cool' firewalld.
It's not just RH though, eg. lately, i had to install OpenSuse and it's
susefirewall2 feature with NM was 'killing' my brain for 3 days... then
i rewrote systemd scripts and redirected them at my custom iptables
shell scripts ..
I think all those commercial Linuxes went on path i remember from
commercial Unixes - everyone has got it's own tools and tweaks and
features and layers above common binaries and basically you have to be
trained if you want to transition from one to another ..
All done in the name of 'simplifying' things .. just like M$ windows :p
