I've seen GDM suspending the box after too much time without 
interaction.  My fix:

echo '[org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power]' > 
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/disable_powermgmt.gschema.override
echo sleep-inactive-ac-timeout=0 >> 
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/disable_powermgmt.gschema.override
echo idle-dim=false >> 
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/disable_powermgmt.gschema.override

glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
