Try booting your box ... and it wouldn't surprise me if it blows up again.

# mount | grep /run
tmpfs on /run type tmpfs (rw,.....

Sure, this is a good idea if you don't mind random people shooting you
in the foot from time to time.  This is equally bad as disabling
firewalling with the reasoning that it is so annoying to configure.
