It's not just books that make me learn something. When I don't know or
understand something. A book helps me guide to understand the basics.
After I understand the basics, and want to get then hang of it to really
understand it I still need practical experience. LIke you said after too
many books your head hits the table, same for me.

So if I want to learn perl or python,I read a book that helps me
understand it and work the exercises. After I get the feeling I get the
basics. I work on getting practical experience and understanding ,cuz
practical understand of something helps me learn far more than just
theoretical :)

Anyways I've decided to start with python first after giving it a lot of
thought. I may decide to have a look at perl also once I get the hang of
python. Since I Have to start somewhere python seems the most logical
for me to start with. Thanks for all of your replies, really appreciate
all the responses.

Anyways I would still appreciate that reading list for once I start with
perl after I get the hang of python if you don't mind helping me with
that?
