Hi
I've had a chance to reinstall the new kernel on the problem machine again, and it still kernel panics on boot. This machine has usb keyboard and mouse.
I have another machine which refuses to recognize my usb weather station (Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0fde:ca01 Oregon Scientific WMRS200 weather station), but is quite happy on the older kernel.
I believe the new kernel has a usb issue.

Cheers
Bill
