Hi all,
just my 2c: with encfs (FUSE-based encrypted filesystem) you can run it
in 'reverse' mode - e.g., to backup into *the cloud* encrypted and skip
the local encrypted backup (of course, giving up one backup layer...)
i.e.,
> encfs --reverse /home/myuser /mnt/point/enc
and run your backup client against /mnt/point/enc
