Hello all,

Have lost all in /boot/grub2 except grubenv.

I am running the Mate desktop from EPEL.

Tried editing grub from Caja as root.

Any ideas on how to restore grub?

Gnome is no longer a pleasing desktop, hence Mate.
Why did Gnome become something one would not like to have in the home?

System still boots.

P.S.
Attached is my .Xmodmap, and it works for me, perhaps useful for some.

! ! Make Caps_Lock into Control_L and "Pause/Break" into "Capes Luck" (sic) ! clear lock clear control add control = Control_L Control_R keycode 66 = Control_L ! Now put Pause/Break the Caps_Lock keycode 127 = Caps_Lock ! and make Alt_R behave as Alt_L, primarily so that one can view pdf document properties in Evince or Atril with Alt_R + Return keycode 108 = Alt_L
