Hi Earl,
The direct installer puts it into
/opt/AutoScan/bin/autoscan-network
so I would say, it is a good idea.
I don't know if this matters, but I tried and tried to
get the direct installer to install in Fedora Code 20.
No joy. Wanted kdesu or gksu. Couldn't find kdesu,
even with it installed. Found gksu, but threw an
X11 error.
Finally, in frustration, I just copied /opt/AutoScan
from my SL 6.5 machine into FC20. And guess who works
perfectly and does not need kdesu or gksu, even when
run as a user!
