Hello,
no need of epel repo, scipy v0.7.2 is available in the main sl repo for
python-2.6.
the yum install scipy should have work...
What is your version of SL installed ?
scipy v0.12 is also available for python 2.7 and 3.3 with the repo
softwarecollections
http://ftp1.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6x/external_products/softwarecollections/
there is no pandas rpm available in sl or epel or nether
softwarecollection
I don't search for it, I prefer to use
pip install pandas after a created virtualenv
